Your SEBG Membership

Membership of the Southend Business Group for the 2021/22 year was made available at no cost to all businesses in recognition that the organisation had just been established.  However, we now want to provide services and additional value to members, over and above the general benefit to be brought to the Southend precinct of the Lower Hutt CBD.

Membership benefits

  • Monthly meetings to discuss issues and problems faced by members and agree actions to address these
  • Promotion in the Southend Directory (a new on-line directory for businesses, events, and activities in the Southend)
  • Access to the Hutt Valley Chamber of Commerce (receive newsletters and attend events at members rates)
  • Advocacy to Hutt City Council and the Riverlink Project on issues that affect one or more members

Membership cost

Membership of the Southend Business Group for 2022/23 will cost:

  • $100 for the calendar year, payable by 31st May, or
  • $30 per quarter, payable by end of Jun, Sep, Dec, and Mar 22 or
  • $10 per month paid by automatic payment each month.

The membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March the following year.

Note that the Southend Business Group is not registered for GST, so there is no opportunity for members to claim a GST component of their membership fee, although it will be tax deductible.

How to Join

If you do not have an account on the website:

Please visit the Southend Business Group website, https://sebg.org.nz, and click the link “Join the Southend Business Group”. You will need to register for an account if you don't already have one. Once you have registered an account, the registration will be reviewed and approved (this is to prevent spam bots from registering lots of invalid accounts).

After your account has been confirmed, you will get an email with a one-time link to log in and create a password. When you click on this link you will automatically be logged in so you can create a password. You should then tick the checkbox to join the Southend Business Group. You be also be able to indicate whether you own or manage a business and/or a building, and to provide details if appropriate. 

If you already have an account on the website:

If you already have an account on the website, then you should log in and go to "My Account" and click on the "Edit" tab.  Tick the checkbox to join the Southend Business Group, and any other details of your business and/or building.

Alternatively, you can use the link "Join the Southend Business Group" on the front page image once you are logged in to get directly to the membership page.

After submitting your account update:

When you submit your account information with the join box ticked, or click the "Join" link on the front page, you will redirected to the membership join page. Confirm that you understand the association rules and select a payment option before submitting your membership application. If the information provided is complete, your membership will be recorded and you will receive an invoice for your membership fee.

How to Renew your Membership

You should log in and go to "My Account" and click on the "Edit" tab.  Tick the checkbox to join the Southend Business Group, and any other details of your business and/or building.

Update your Account Profile

You are also encouraged to complete your account profile to add your name, a photo, and some information about yourself.  Go to "My Account" and click on the "Profile" tab.  If you are a business or a building owner, you should also complete some details about your business or building from the links present each time you log in.
